Uruguay offers incredible options to enjoy nature, quietness, stunning beaches and one major city, Montevideo, with half of the country’s population. Argentina is a synonym of natural richness and marvel. It is known worldwide as the country of tango, natural beauties, good soccer and “asado” (baked meet, one of its most popular dishes). It is the second largest country in South-America and crossing it you will encounter vastly different landscapes, climates and people! Expect to see mountains, subtropical forests, glaciars and important cultural centers in the major metropolitan areas.
Chile has vastly different regions, with world´s driest deserts in the north, glaciars in the south and, of course, the capital Santiago. Within a day´s travel of Santiago, you can visit Mount Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Americas, vineyards, beaches, ski resorts, picturesque Valparaíso and the sea-bath and festival city Viña del Mar.
Mendoza is located in Western Argentina at the feet of the Andean mountains. It is one of the famous World Wine Capitals. The city is easy to rich both from Santiago de Chile and from most cities in Argentina. Mendoza is a green oasis in a dry but fruitful wine region. It is a middle-sized comfortable city with an active cultural, touristic and social life. Mendocinos are friendly and hospitable towards tourists, who can enjoy sun and good service all year round.
Some people refer to the city of Buenos Aires as the “Paris of the southern hemisphere”. Artists see it as a cultural experimentation field. For tourists it is an attraction by itself and the gateway to Argentina’s hinterland. For its citizens, the “porteños”, Buenos Aires is all of this plus a bit of nostalgia for the good old times.
